Design Process - Research - Making
In most of classroom studios Manoj tries to make a blend of design research and physical realization of ideas, he intensively focuses on design process, market & material research in his studios, he encourages student to envision design solutions that could create positive impact on society. He believes experimentation is very important factor in students learning, he encourages students to gain more autonomy in their line of inquiry and to be more experimental in their design interventions.
Manoj has expertise in Design Thinking, Primary research, ideation, concept generation and hands on making, he mostly facilitated studios in capacity of M.Des. and B. Des. He facilitated creative visualization, Design Thinking, Consumer insight generation, Business models (design centric) model/prototype making and project facilitation.

He teaches design theory, various design tools, buyer/user persona build, market & business of the furniture and need of the intervention. He facilitates indoor and outdoor furniture design studios for students, he helps students to explore all possible materials for their design.

He believes most of the learning happens in real life situation, He conducts and takes many batches of international and national students to field based collaborative learning environment, where one can explore hands on making, first hand interaction with the community. He makes sure that students get real time exposure to how things actually get made, how different system functions. Students get change to interact with various stakeholders like Govt. and non Govt. organizations, manufacturing facilities, artisans, retailers, etc.
